Communi-Tea!
Local Landscapers Aerated Compost Tea Program!

LOCAL'S 100 GALLON BREWER!

What the heck is compost tea?
Compost tea is the water extract of compost.  It contains countless beneficial micro-organisms that do work in your soil and on your plant leaves when applied as a mist.   The micro-organisms in the compost tea help the plant with immunity against disease, absorbing nutrients for better growth, and  even help plants protect against some pests!

How do you make it?
Communi-Tea is organic!  First we take nutrient rich compost and mix it with worm castings. These are purchased at the local worm farm in Sonoma. Then we add other organic material depending on what type of tea we are making.  These ingredients include but are not limited to:  bat guano, liquified sea kelp and fish emulsion just to name a few. Also bought locally through the Sonoma hydro shop.   We put all the compost in a mesh bag and let the liquid ingredients float freely in the water.   Then we turn on the air pump.  This beast of a pump forces oxygen into the bag and slowly releases the microbes from the soil. This process also gives the microbes an aerobic environment to live in until needed.  As they "brew" they begin to multiply in the nutrient rich liquid environment; until there are literally hundreds of millions of microbes ready to start work in your garden!

How often do I need to apply it for best results?

You can apply compost tea as often as you like.  It is not a fertilizer so it will never burn your indoor or outdoor plants.  It is simply an organic way to enrich the soil and health of your plants.  Local Landscapers recommends a dose every two to three months for healthy plants in cooperation with your existing landscape or gardening program.  For sick plants we recommend a root application and a foliar application on alternative months.  You can also add it to your compost to help break down debris faster.

Do I have to apply it or will Local Landscapers apply it for me?
Compost tea is literally alive.   So you must apply it within twenty four hours of being brewed!  This is extremely important because if the microbes stay in the bucket to long with no food or oxygen they will die. Soon a non-smelly aerobic compost tea will turn anaerobic and become a smelly mess! Not to mention all the bugs that are supposed to go to work will be lost!   Local will come out and apply the compost tea for you.  If you would like to do it yourself we can set you up with the tea, You can apply it to your plants and just leave the buckets outside the door for us to pick up the next day!  It's that simple.

How much does the Communi-Tea cost and how much do I need  to apply?
An average size residential home can use 15-25 gallons of Communi-Tea per application depending on the extent of the gardens and landscape.
